Dr. Pradeep Kumar is a Chief Scientist, Head of the Pavement Evaluation Division, and Professor at CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, India, with over 28 years of experience in R&D projects related to pavement engineering. Holding a doctorate in Civil Engineering (Geomatics) from IIT Roorkee, he specializes in road asset management, airfield pavement systems, and non-destructive pavement evaluation. He has led state-level Road and Airfield Asset Management projects and played a key role in introducing advanced pavement evaluation technologies in India, including the first Network Survey Vehicle System and the GIS-based National Highway Information System. As a technical committee member of the Indian Roads Congress and other national committees in India, he has contributed to several national guidelines and codes. He has authored two books, guided research scholars, published extensively in national and international journals, and coordinates training programs on pavement evaluation and road asset management in India and abroad.
