Russell Gallagher specialises in the commercialisation of transport technologies and innovation. He supports the Mobility Futures and Infrastructure Management teams. Russell commenced employment with NTRO in 2022. He has a mixed engineering and consulting background with over 20 years of experience across automotive, aerospace, defence, government and transport industries.

Russell has built several autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence systems, robotic systems, concept cars, tanks, heavy machinery, electric bikes, and jet aircraft. He has led many cross-disciplinary engineering and research teams, both locally and internationally.

Prior to joining NTRO, Russell was Chief Engineer for Research & Technology at Rheinmetall Defence Australia. He has previously worked for KPMG, BAE, Ford and several other large and small engineering companies both here in Australia and internationally.
