We're excited to have Dr Suthakaran Siva present on 'Permeable and Pervious Pavements: Understanding the Potential Applications'.

Dr Suthakaran Sivagnanasuntharam is a Professional Research Engineer at (NTRO) with over five years of combined research and teaching experience. Prior to joining NTRO, Suthakaran completed his PhD at Smart Pavements Australia Research Collaboration (SPARC) Hub, Monash University, and then worked as a research officer at the same institution, where he conducted various laboratory and field experiments on pavement materials. His PhD research focused on advancing intelligent compaction technology for asphalt pavement layers.

He received his BSc in Civil Eng (first class honours) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2016 and PhD in Civil Eng from Monash University in 2023. He has received several awards, including the 'AUSLEA Scholarship Award' in 2014 for the best performance in the first year of undergraduate studies, the 'Best Presenter Award' at an international conference held in Sri Lanka (ACEPS 2017), the 'Best Published Paper by a Young Professional' award from NTRO in 2024, and the 'Mollie Holman Medal Nominee' award from the Department of Civil Engineering at Monash University in recognition of the best PhD thesis submitted in 2023.
